Second week of 2024 down! I told my teen son, a fashion-forward fella since the day he could dress himself, that my outfits this year are much better than last. His reply?
“My insults are paying off. You’re welcome.”
Here’s what a wore this week. Headers are the commentary given by that guy.
We have a trip to Disney soon, so I bought these Puma RS-X embroidered over the weekend to have a comfortable, supportive shoe for all that walking in my Disneybound looks. I guess he thought this thrifted pink Vineyard Vines sweater over the thrifted Aldo blouse gave off pretty pretty princess. I can see it.
Regardless of his lack of enthusiasm, this look is pre-loved head to toe. Goodwill supplied these Gap plaid pants, Target belt, and French Connection sweater. Poshmark was behind the green suede loafers, and a box in the back of my husband’s closet supplied the navy socks.
“It’s a piece of ribbon I found while I was cleaning the basement”
“No wonder it’s questionable. It’s not even a belt.”
The ribbon was probably overzealous packaging material from some luxury item, it was nicely sewn together 😅
Skirt (J. Crew IIRC?) and suede chelsea boots are both from goodwill!
I had a cardigan over this look, to which he said, “Too teacher-y. But I like it. I like the pants.” Pants are thrifted New York & Co. shoes are Poshmarked but Ugg, and that turtleneck I bought from Walmart online last year when I was first building up basics a la Brenda Cooper’s Silhouette Solution. After I got it in the mail I realized, based on the fabric, etc., that its likely intended purpose was to go under a cheer uniform. Womp womp.
Unfortunately, none of this is thrifted. But none is new, either! So I’m not too bad of an environmentalist. Dress is ModCloth and turtleneck crop is Urban Outfitters.
Just the purple cardigan thing is from goodwill for this look. But shopping your own closet to wear things in new ways is still a win!
